Prime Minister Robert Abela declared the Government’s commitment to attract quality job opportunities which ensure a better quality of life. He said that Malta will remain open to business and the country will keep bringing in companies that provide quality careers.
Dr Abela was speaking at the end of a visit he paid to company SmartCow which specialises in solutions utilising artificial intelligence. Apart from Malta, this company also has offices in other cities such as Paris, Milan, Dubai and Sinagpore.
The Prime Minister remarked that, with 90% of its workforce being engineers, SmartCow reflects the principles of the economic transition the Government is aiming for. He said that such companies are preparing Malta for the future. While emphasising the importance of the AI sector and the quality jobs it offers, Dr Abela encouraged more Maltese citizens to choose a career in these sectors, pledging that the Government will keep providing incentives, such as increasing stipends for sectors that society needs most.
SmartCow will be one of the exhibitors at TechXpo which will take place this week at the Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ta’ Qali. This event will serve as a platform for the public to better comprehend and appreciate artificial intelligence, emergent technologies and career opportunities.
